Stitch Says “Hiiiii” in New ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Poster
Stitch (voiced by Chris Sanders) is back! Disney has unveiled a fresh poster for its live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch, set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025. This new glimpse highlights Stitch’s updated, realistic design, a modern take on the iconic character from the beloved animated classic over 20 years ago. The film aims to reintroduce one of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ most cherished characters in a potential summer blockbuster.
The story follows Lilo (Maia Kealoha), a young girl whose life changes when she forms an unlikely friendship with Stitch, a mischievous alien from another planet. Struggling with loneliness and tensions with her older sister Nani (Sydney Agudong), Lilo’s world is turned upside down when Stitch arrives. Together, the sisters learn about family and loyalty while protecting Stitch from intergalactic forces determined to capture him for experiments. The heartwarming tale will bring a new generation into the magical world of this Disney classic.

A Star-Studded Cast Joins the Ohana
The cast features Zach Galifianakis as Dr. Jumba Jookiba, the eccentric alien scientist who created Stitch, and Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley, the Earth “expert” with hilariously limited knowledge of the planet. Both actors bring fresh energy to these fan-favorite roles, adding depth to this reimagined adventure.
Behind the Camera
Dean Fleischer Camp directs this live-action remake, following his success with Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. Disney’s decision to release Lilo & Stitch over Memorial Day weekend aligns with the success of previous live-action hits like Aladdin, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide. Time will tell if Stitch’s comeback achieves similar box office success.
